In 2014 the NCI’s new out-patient clinics were opened to the public. The clinics were a gift from AFNCI and Egypt Cancer Network, ECN.
The Association built and equipped the clinics to serve 1600 patients per day, and alleviate the burden on NCI’s main building. Moreover, AFNCI is still supporting the clinics to ensure they continue providing high quality service that cancer patients deserve and as such contributing to giving them better chances of recovery. Currently the Association is committed to providing for maintenance and cleaning as well as affording salaries for the clinics staff.
AFNCI is committed to offering continuous support by providing for medication, maintenance expenses and affording security, administration and cleaning teams’ expenses.
Services and continuous support from AFNCI to the National Cancer Institute, NCI, including transportation and maintenance costs
AFNCI is committed to improving the level of healthcare provided to cancer patients, as such its services include maintenance and cleaning of the out-patient clinics that the Association built and equipped for the NCI. As we are keen to protect patients’ health we provide periodic maintenance and daily cleaning and sterilization of the clinics so patients would not be exposed to infection specially as cancer patients have low immunity, consequently contributing to raising recovery rate. The floors and glass are cleaned on a daily basis, the floor is waxed every three months, the walls are painted periodically and plumbing is checked daily besides maintaining bathrooms and sinks area and maintaining electricity generators.
Besides the maintenance, the Association supports the clinics’ needs. It is noteworthy that the cleaning and maintenance of the out-patient facility that include 43 specialized clinics started with the beginning of the project and still continued until now. The Association also supervises the healthcare informatics system and safety system of the out-patient clinics. The Association bears the cost of applying and maintaining the system through the Association’s technical support specialists.
