As Ramadan is a month of blessings and charity, it is opportune to  give you a brief about the Association’s achievements during the past year. Thanks to your support,  we were able to contribute  on many fronts to the protection of the health and wellbeing of Egyptians.

Since last Ramadan, AFNCI was engaged in providing many healthcare services besides implementing a number of projects that aim to protect the health of Egyptians. Sanitary drainage systems have been installed in 28 of the neediest villages in Egypt’s governorates, enhancing the quality of life of their villagers.

The association has also played an important role in the National virus C screening and treatment campaign , in order to stop the spreading of the disease and to reach international infection rates. In cooperation with the Ministry of Health and “long live Egypt” fund, AFNCI conducted comprehensive screening in a variety of sectors of the society  to obtain realistic statistics for infected people to facilitate the provision of medicine for the treatment phase. This cooperation was so effective that Egypt’s experience in fighting Virus C became one of the worldwide model examples to be followed.

Within the framework of a cooperation protocol between AFNCI, Hospital 57357 and the Ministry of Health to integrate clinical pharmacy practice into the Ministry’s hospitals, the Association has completed the establishment of a clinical pharmacy in Ahmed Maher Hospital besides the one that was established in Al-Esmaileya Tumor Hospital the year before. This step aims to develop healthcare services for cancer patients, offer them safe and effective medication and reduce mistakes in the preparation of medications, hence contributing to raising cure rates.

At the Association, we believe that our children are the generation that will build a better future for our nation, that is why we continue to pursue the initiative of distributing out school bags to students of the neediest schools in different governorates. Inside the school bags, AFNCI is providing cancer and healthy living awareness booklets and food products that meet the family’s needs for a month. Besides the school bags, AFNCI is carrying out health awareness campaigns for the students’ families.

During Ramadan of  this year, the Association is pursuing its efforts towards fighting pollution sources within its over-all battle against the cancer of poverty, ignorance and sickness. To offer a decent life to our people in Egypt’s villages, in cooperation with the State institutions, AFNCI is implementing projects to establish drinking and agriculture water treatment stations in Abu Diab village in Qena as well as establishing sanitary drainage network and elevation stations in the Green Island, Abu Khashaba and Meghaizal Tower villages in Kafr Alsheikh.

The Association is also pursuing its virus C screening campaigns and offering treatment to infected people besides conducting a vitamin D screening campaign where it offers screening for a discounted price of 200 EGP instead of 1000 EGP.

Moreover, the Association is carrying out its on-going campaigns for blood donation in favor of the National Cancer Institute, NCI, and the Ministry of Health hospitals. It also pursue its efforts to provide medications and support to the NCI patients besides being committed to the up-keeping of the Institute’s outpatient clinics which it established. AFNCI is still offering transportation services of patients between the NCI and its one-day surgery hospital in Altagamo Al-Awal, support education and training for workers of the Institute and the Ministry of Health hospitals, and support for 57357’s expansion project.

You have been our partners in every successful step we take. We are looking forward to your continuous support during the blessed month so that we can together eliminate the cancer of poverty, ignorance and sickness.
